Mid-August Crane Update

Mid-August Crane Update

Crane has continued to fish well, and is producing consistent numbers of quality fish that are tough to match at the moment. The water temperatures are plenty warm to have pushed the fish into the channels, and nymphing Chironomids, Leeches, and small Mayfly patterns below an indicator have been the ticket. Make sure to stay in the channels, but feel free to move around frequently as there are certain areas within each channel that seem to hold high concentrations of fish. Slow stripping a Leech or Wooly Bugger along the bottom of a channel will find fish, but it is important to maintain a consistent depth within 2 feet of the bottom. With the warm water temperatures near the surface there has been little to no opportunity to fish dries.
