The Lower Deschutes continue to fish well. Salmon Flies and golden stones are still around and fish are still looking for big dries on some days. This hatch will probably wrap up in the next 7-10 days. Now is a great time for Dry-dropper setups with a salmonfly pattern up top and a small caddis or mayfly nymph below. Hatches of caddis are becoming increasingly important and we have heard some people having great success fishing caddis dries. PMD’s will be around some days so make sure to have some of them in your box. We have also heard reports of people doing well swinging streamers on trout spey setups. The river is in great shape and fishing well so get out there and have some fun.
