Lakes Update October 18th, 2024
October 18, 2024
The lakes in Central Oregon are beginning to transition into their fall patterns, with colder nights triggering more active feeding during the day. Paulina is still a bit slow, but purple chubbies and beetles have been bringing in some good fish. Be mindful that there are no docks currently at Paulina, so plan accordingly. East Lake is picking up with the cooler nights, and ants, beetles, and leech patterns in olive are all performing well. Wading around the lake’s edges is still productive, even though there are no docks available. Hosmer has been on fire lately, with red ice cream cones, scuds, and water boatman all producing well. Crane Prairie is also showing improvement, especially around midday, with balanced leeches, beetles, and ants continuing to work well.
