Paulina Lake is fishing well. Brown leeches, chironomids, and small mayfly nymphs have been picking up fish. Some nice fish being taken out of Paulina already. East Lake is ice free but there is still a decent amount of snow on the edges. We have heard people have already been putting boats in there. Water level is about the same as last year and initial reports have been good, same flies as Paulina. North and South Twin have both been fishing well on leeches and chironomids under an indicator. Stripping or paddle trolling buggers is another fun way to find some fish in the Twin Lakes. The reports we have been hearing from Wickiup have been generally slow, a few nice fish being taken but nobody reporting great numbers of fish. A bit more warm weather to get the bugs moving around and Wickiup should improve quickly. Davis Lake is also ice free and accessible but like Wickiup, we haven't heard many positive reports yet, one good report of largemouth fishing. The Cascade Lakes Highway is completely open now but Sparks and Elk are very snowy and partially frozen still. Lava is open and accessible, no reports yet. One of our employees drove the road into the hosmer parking lot last night after fishing the upper and it is snow free and ready to go, campground is still closed.
