Lakes Update June 9, 2023

East and Paulina Lake have both been fishing well. Good numbers of rainbows at East still in the shallows going through spawning motions. These fish are preoccupied and not feeding so best to leave them alone. Lots of smaller kokanee at east this week while trout fishing in 8-12 feet of water. Leeches, two-bits, and chironomids all picked up fish. Stripping larger brown baitfish patterns to imitate tui chubs is a good way to target larger class brown trout. Wickiup sounds like it may be starting to pick up a bit as we have heard some better reports as of late. Davis is fishing fair on streamers for bass and trout. Both Twin Lakes have been fishing well on leeches and chironomids. Hosmer is fishing fair on leeches and chironomids as well. No reports from Lava yet. Callibaetis will start to become more and more prevalent over the coming weeks so stocking up on a good selection of nymphs and dries is a good idea.
