Now’s the time we start to look to Hosmer more and more as a solid option for getting up to the Cascade lakes. With the paddle traffic thinning out as the weather cools, the crowds are quite manageable most days, early mornings and late evenings are still the best ways to avoid crowds on the weekends. Fishing has been good, and really nice quality Rainbows and Brookies are fairly common. Indicator rigs have been the most consistent producer of fish, but wooly buggers, leeches, and damsels have also been finding good numbers of fish and are an excellent way to cover water. There are still some small Callibaetis and Caddis around, so there is some opportunity to fish dries.
