Fishing on the Fall has been outstanding, we have seen strong hatches of a variety of mayflies throughout the late mornings and into mid day. Pale Morning Duns up to a size 14 along with some smaller Baetis have been consistent and the trout are definitely looking for them. My guides are fishing small midge or mayfly nymphs under either a Parachute PMD or Larger caddis pattern with the trout eating both the dry and dropper consistently.
This weekend is looking chilly with a possibility for snow, the cold temps will put most of the bugs down but keep an eye out for those blue wings to still be coming off when it’s overcast. You can find good water and fish throughout the river now so don’t be afraid to do some hiking and get away from the usual spots where the fish tend to see a lot more pressure and people.
