The Fall has been fishing good as of late. The fish are spread out from the headwaters down around the tubes, and the access has been decent. The Hatch is consistent and fish are looking up right around midday. The BWO’s have been strong and there are still a few winter stones crawling around.
Tight line european style nymphing has been very effective when trying to fool a specific fish. We like to switch the flies out quickly until we find a pattern that gets a little more of a response. The fish get picky when the pressure on them increases so do some hiking and try to find some fish that may have seen lees flies and other angler that day.
Streamer fishing is alway a good way to get a reactionary strike out of some of the bigger fish in the river. Once they have seen your streamer a few times they will get tired of it. Switch to a smaller fly or find another fish.
