Fishing the crooked has been off and on for us, with some guides reporting dirty water and tough conditions. When the fish are hard to find we go deep, fish the bottoms of the deeper and slower pools making sure to get those bugs down all the way. Euro Nymphing is a great way to do this as the flies are heavy and sink quickly, getting them in front of the fish fast. If you catch one there will be more, so work through the holes slowly and carefully. We did have a guide see a couple snakes down there so be aware, especially dogs who will get curious make sure your pups are either on a leash or staying close.
