**Flows have dropped on the Crooked since this report was originally posted. The river is down to 57 CFS and the fishing will be different. Look for deep pools, they will hold the most fish.**
The Crooked River may have slowed slightly since last week; however, it’s still fishing very well. The forecast shows some cold nights in the canyon this week but the days are still staying in the mid-70s. Word is that the pale morning dun hatch has slowed slightly which is a sign that we’re transitioning into blue wing olive hatches. Most of the PMDs are around size 16 but be prepared with a range of sizes. I’d start to make sure that you’ve got some BWOs ready to go as well. Small mayfly size 16 - 22 mayfly patterns, size 18 - 22 midges, and scuds have been catching decent amounts of fish. Small streamers aren’t a bad idea during an overcast day.
