Crooked River Autumn Update
September 27, 2017
We love love love when fish are eating dries! The Crooked River has been an exceptional dry fly experience over the past couple of weeks. We are seeing a decent PMD/BWO hatch with a mix of caddis in there as well. We have been fortunate enough to mainly fish dries throughout the day. If the bite gets a bit slow on top, we add a dropper to the setup before totally cashing in and switching over to nymphing. Fish like to eat small size 18-20 purple haze, parachute adams, and BWO extended bodies. As a dropper, we have been fishing size 18-20 black and olive tailwater tinies, size 18-20 black or red two-bit hookers, and size 16-18 pheasant tails. Remember, this is one of our fisheries that is open year long! The fishing has been great for us on top and under the indicator!
