At Fly and Field we strive to provide the knowledge and gear to ensure that anglers in Central Oregon and beyond are well equipped for their next adventure on the water. Everyday we interact with individuals who require information on local waters as well as fresh and saltwater destinations in different areas of the country, and around the world. To further our ability to meet the unique needs of individual anglers we are happy to announce that we are introducing a Used Gear Trade In Program designed to put the appropriate gear in the hands of those who need it. The program provides an opportunity for our customers to apply the value of their used gear to purchases at the shop, while allowing us to expand product offerings into the realms of quality used gear.
Rods, reels, and other purchases from past angling endeavors can be brought in to be evaluated, listed, and eventually sold at prices agreed upon by shop staff and the original owner of the gear. We will use our expertise to provide valuations of various products and to list them in a manner which will maximize the exposure those items get to anglers looking to purchase used gear. The original owners of the gear will have several options for receiving payment, each of which is outlined below.
Option 1: Lump Sum Store Credit
Receive the agreed upon value of all gear being entered into the program up front.
Option 2: Store Credit Payment Per Item
Receive the value of each piece of equipment in store credit as each item sells.
Option 3: Check for 70% of Agreed Upon Value
For those who do not plan to put the money towards further fly fishing related purchases, we will offer a check up front for 70% of the agreed upon value of the equipment.
The program requires minimal customer effort, and is designed to create a simple way to sell used equipment as well as a centralized location for anglers who are looking for high quality used gear. We are excited to have the opportunity to offer quality used gear at a budget-friendly price point, and to keep gear out of storage and on the water. We are planning to focus on items of substantial value i.e. rods, reels, etc. but are open to discussing any sort of used gear that is in fair to good condition. We already have used items available, head to our online store and search “used gear” for product descriptions and pictures! To schedule an evaluation or inquire about the program call the shop at 541-318-1616 and ask for Freeland.
