Just a few weeks ago, Scott, Dave and I (Kyle) were in Denver attending the International Fly Tackle Dealer Show. The show is an opportunity to check out the upcoming gear for 2020, connect with sales reps, and spend time with other folks from all aspects of the fly fishing industry. As you may know, many fly fishing brands are headquartered in the Denver area. One of those manufacturers is Umpqua Feather Merchants. For those of you who are not familiar with Umpqua, they manufacture flies, packs/bags, fly boxes, leaders/tippets, and a variety of other items. Fly and Field have carried Umpqua products for several years, and they were founded in Oregon many decades ago! We were able to head over to Umpqua Feather Merchants for a quick tour of their facility and factory! Led by their President and Warehouse Manager, the trip was awesome! It was neat to see and learn the flow of business at the factory. From rows and rows of accessories, fly boxes, flies, to how our orders are packed and shipped. Aside from learning about the operation, we were able to shake hands with the hard-working folks behind the scenes. Thank you to Umpqua Feather Merchants for the lunch and tour of your facility. I was not able to snap a whole lot of photos, but take a look at a few below!
