Alrighty, Folks! The Fly-Fishing Film Tour is here this weekend! And what a weekend we have in store for all you fanatical Bendites. First of all, if you haven’t got your tickets, swing by the shop pronto. You’ll save three bucks per. We still have a few for both shows Saturday at 4:00 and 8:00.
So the festivities begin here at the shop Friday where from 4-6 we will be hosting a little “Pre-Festival” warm-up. A bunch of the Tour crew will be here and we will be offering some tasty brew from one of the Tour’s sponsors, Oskar Blues Brewery based in Colorado. So come enjoy a beer courtesy of those fine folks. This is the perfect way to get the party started!
Later that evening, from 6-8, a bunch of us are going over to the Deschutes Ale House to help our dear friend, Arian Stevens open a show of his amazing photography. This guy is seriously dedicated to his art and it shows in his stunning work. All the pic in this post are his. We’ve had the privilege of using many of Arian’s photos in our newsletters, brochures and fliers over the years. He has the uncanny ability of capturing the essence of fly fishing, whether it’s the grandeur of the Deschutes canyon, or the surreal detail in a trout’s coloration. He’s an awesome guy and a fishy effer. Come on out and help support one of Bends true artists. And a percentage of all the proceeds that night go to the Bend Casting Club. Win win.
Saturday, of course, is the big day here in Bend as we once again host the incredible moving feast that is the Fly Fishing Film Tour celebrating its Tenth Traversing of the country. This year’s filmslook to be easily the most entertaining, funny, inspirational and mouth-wateringly insane yet. This is classic fly-fishing adventure, folks. Both shows have sold really well and we expect to have the house packed for both. This is always such a special event for us angling nut-jobs. Come enjoy it with us.
After the shows, the crew in town representing Oskar Blues Brewery are hosting a party at the White Water Tap House at 1043 NW Bond downtown. These guys make some killer beer and have been supporters of our sport for a long time. The Tap House proudly serves a few of their flavors, so let’s show these guys our appreciation and stop in for a few.
