Upper Deschutes Update August 26, 2022

The Upper Deschutes has been fishing fair. Nymphing will be your best bet in terms of numbers of fish but dry-dropper opportunities are present as well. We love a micro-chubby and two-bit combo up on the upper. For nymphing using split shot or tungsten beads to get the flies down in some of the deeper pools will be to your advantage. Stripping streamers around some of the undercut banks and downed timber is another good way to get some larger fish but can be dangerous on your flies. Like anywhere else this time of year its also beneficial to have some Caddis and PMD’s on you in case you find yourself in the right place at the right time and find risers.
