Fishing has been good at Three Creek Lake. The nights have been cold out there which has made fishing most productive once things warm up in the late morning and afternoon. The callibaetis hatch offers the best opportunities for surface action. There are likely only a few more weeks where terrestrials will produce. Subsurface fishing has been best with callibaetis nymphs, dark assassins and midge patterns. Damsels can be worth a shot but they’re not as active as they were during the summer heat. Chironomids and balanced leeches have potential, mainly in the deeper areas. Stripping callibaetis nymphs and leeches with an intermediate line is an excellent choice. There’s limited time to access Three Creek Lake and the fish need to fatten up for a long winter. Now is a perfect time to head up there.
