The Metolius continues to fish well. Nymphing remains the most consistent method in terms of numbers but good dry fly opportunities have been around some days as well. As we have previously mentioned a Golden Stone nymph followed by 10-12” of tippet and small mayfly or caddis imitation is a great way to go. For dries definitely have some golden stones as they are starting to make an appearance and will become increasingly important. Caddis and PMD’s are also important to have if you find yourself in the right spot at the right time. For targeting bulls large streamers are effective and swinging them, stripping them, and dead drifting them under an indicator can all be effective methods. The Metolius is a gorgeous place to spend a summer day so get out there and get after some fish.
