Not much has changed as far as fishing the Metolius goes. The fishing has been good for both Rainbows and Bulls, and these warm Fall days have kept things pretty lively as far as the fishing and pressure goes. We are finding almost all of our Trout on deep nymph rigs mostly on Stonefly and Mayfly nymphs as well as egg patterns. For the Bulls, a nymph will pick up the odd fish every now and then, and a big white streamer fished deep provides good chances for finding a nice fish in a day. It will be interesting to see what kind of weather we see with this front moving in. Overcast days may produce some good BWO hatches, and while it looks like mostly rain in the forecast I wouldn’t be surprised if we finally got a little snow in the high country. Access is good for now but keep in mind the lack of road maintenance/ plowing past Camp Sherman as we move into winter.
