As the weather cools, many of Central Oregon’s lakes are closing for the season. East and Paulina lakes remain open, though keep in mind that the docks have been removed for the winter months and there seems to be several inches of snow up there now. Snow may also begin affecting access to the other Cascade Lakes, so check conditions before heading out. This may well be the last lake report of the season.
While the lakes are winding down for the year, there’s still time to fish these waters—just be prepared for winter conditions as you head out.
