Paulina Lake opened up on Wednesday and is ice free and ready for fishing, you can launch at the resort and it is $10. We fished the opener up there and leeches and assassins were picking up fish. Mostly smaller fish with some large ones mixed in. East Lake is ice free but there is still a lot of snow at the launches and on the beaches, we don’t think launching a boat is possible yet but walking the shore or dragging down a float tube is not a bad idea. North and South Twin have both been fishing well on leeches and chironomids under an indicator. Stripping or paddle trolling buggers is another fun way to find some fish in the Twin Lakes. Wickiup has been fishing a bit slow for us so far this season. One report of a nice rainbow coming on a black jigged leech. Davis Lake is also ice free and accessible, we haven't heard many reports. The Cascade Lakes Highway is set to open on wednesday the 22nd but it sounds like there is still a good amount of snow up higher along the roadside and in parking areas. Sounds like lava is accessible but no reports yet. Hosmer is likely still a week or two out with all the snow.
