Paulina Lake is open and is ice free. Leeches, chironomids, and small mayfly nymphs have been picking up fish. Many anglers are reporting catching many more rainbow trout than browns. East Lake is almost ice free now and initial reports have been good, same flies as Paulina. North and South Twin have both been fishing well on leeches and chironomids under an indicator. Stripping or paddle trolling buggers is another fun way to find some fish in the Twin Lakes. Wickiup has been ice free but the reports we have been hearing have been generally slow. A bit more warm weather to get the bugs moving around and Wickiup should improve quickly.. Davis Lake is also ice free and accessible but like Wickiup, we haven't heard many positive reports yet. The Cascade Lakes Highway is completely open now but Sparks, Elk, Lava and Hosmer all still have a good amount of snow on the access roads and parking areas.
