Things are really heating up on Hosmer and we’ve started to see a ton of Callbaetis, as well as some good Damsel activity. There is opportunity to find fish on dries throughout the day, and Callibaetis nymphs below an indicator are producing fish consistently. Chironomids and Balanced Leeches have also been top producers in the subsurface game. Most evenings are producing good Caddis hatches as well, and the low light hours of the day have really provided some excellent dry fly fishing for the Brookies, Bows, and Cutthroat that are found in Hosmer. With the warmer weather also comes an increase in paddle traffic, which is starting to become a significant factor, especially on weekends. To find a little solitude and space to fish plan to be on the water early and late.
