The Fall River is fishing well. It was due to be stocked between April 11-15, but we heard reports that may not have happened on time. Anyhow, it should be stocked very soon if it hasn’t been already, and is set to receive 1000 more “trophy” trout sometime between May 9-13th. Indicator setups continue to be the most effective. Small two bit’s, jig style nymphs, and small CJ’s are some of our favorites out there. Midges will be the most predominant hatch right now but keep an eye out for March Browns and caddis. A nice stimulator like an ant or beetle can be a good springtime fly on the Fall as well. Fishing a stimulator with 2-3 feet of tippet and a small nymph below is a fun and effective way to trick some fish. The new fish they are putting in the river will be hungry and less wary than the ones who have been around a while, so get out there and get after some fresh fish!
