You can definitely feel winter moving in up at East Lake. There don’t appear to be any major road-closing snowstorms in the forecast but that could change any day. Bring emergency snow equipment just in case. The fishing has stayed productive out there. Indicator rigs have been producing some great fish. Most of the action is on balanced leeches but fish are also biting small assassins, midges, and chironomids. Stripping leeches and small streamers has been fooling a lot of fish, white, black, or natural colors have been good from streamers. The lake is still low so an intermediate line should do the trick. Fish bigger articulated streamers if you’re looking for a trophy, it might take all day but the big browns are bound to get fooled eventually. We’ll make sure to put up a report once the road to East Lake is shut down, in the meantime enjoy the last of the fishing up there.
