Crooked River Update

Crooked River Update

We’ve been seeing really good numbers of fish out on the Crooked. Nymphing has been the most consistent way to find fish throughout the day, with some opportunity to throw dries, particularly in the evening towards last light. Not much has changed as far as fly selection goes, we aren’t seeing the big numbers of Caddis we saw throughout the early summer, but they are still around so having some pupa patterns and a couple of dries is not a bad idea. Small Mayfly and Midge patterns will really be the best producers going forward, and fishing the lightest indicator/split shot combo possible will help find spooky fish and light takes.

Suggested Nymphs: Olive or Brown Micro Mayfly #16-20, Quasimodo Pheasant Tail #18-20, Black or Purple Juju Baetis #16-20, Black Rainbow Warrior #16-20, Tailwater Tiny #18-22, Black or Purple Zebra Midge #18-22, Black Winkers Midge #18-22, Black Beadwing Midge #18-22

Suggested Dries: Purple Haze #16-18, Parachute Adams #16-18, Parachute PMD #16-18, Tiltwing PMD #16-18, Purple Comparadun #16-18, Tilt Wing Mahogany #16-18, Rusty Spinner #16-18
