The Crooked has been fishing well. Flows have once again gone up, this time to 242CFS. Caddis has been the bug out there, size 14 - 16 in tan or olive. With some cooler weather this week we may see some good hatches of male morning duns. Terrestrials are a good dry fly, especially ants. Increase in CFS means size your nymphs up. Bigger bugs will get knocked off their rocks when the dam discharge increases. Caddis pupa will be really productive mainly size 14 - 16. Scuds, small leeches and baetis nymphs are also killer. If your eyes get tired of staring at an indicator, swing some pupa and soft hackles around. The Crooked will cool down a bit this week, a nice break from the heat.
