Crane Prairie has been fishing well. Starting to find more large trout. Dropping stuff below an indicator or chubby has been working best. Leeches in black and olive, worms, assasins, two-bits and chironomids have all been effective. Not much to speak of in terms of a callibaetis hatch yet but we shouldn’t be far off. Damsels will also become increasingly effective. Paddle trolling, wind drifting or casting and stripping flies is a good way to cover water and try and find some fish when the bite slows down. If you catch a few fish, work that area hard. If you fish somewhere for 15-20 minutes with no action, think about switching spots or flies.
