The Fly and Field Crew has a bi-annual tradition, the Shakedown floats. Once in the spring, and once in the Fall at the tail end of the fishery. These trips are usually met with inclement water, unstable river flows, but fortunately, accompanied by the best of company. For the spring float, we headed down to the Lower Deschutes for a 3-day float from Trout Creek to Harpham. Fishing began after the Northern Boundary and delightfully exceptional given the river flows were pumping over 7,000CFS. It is great to take a few days to kick back with the crew and learn a thing or two about the new guys joining the forces. This year we have Justin(JC) joining us as a shop employee and walk and wade guide. Other than JC, the only new crew that could make it was Gus and May, the two new Fly and Field Pups.
