Fishing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.  I have always loved the sport but if it wasn’t for my dad dragging around his son on all his adventures I probably would not be where I am today. What started as a good time with him trolling or throwing around rooster tails, and of course the deadly rainbow Power bait, quickly turned into an obsession as I got older. Around the age of ten my dad introduced me to a fly rod, surely just to keep me from getting restless on the river; little did he know I would soon fall in love with it.

Growing up in the Great Northwest is a blessing to any kid holding a fly rod in his hand and the passion to get out and use it. With a fishing season in full swing nearly every month of the year the opportunity to hone your skills as a fisherman are endless. For this reason I have had the opportunity to fish in many different methods and with many different choices of tackle.

I got my start in the guiding industry on Lake Creek as a teenager and haven’t looked back since. The passion that I had found at an early age for fly fishing has now transcended into a passion to help others enjoy the great sport.

For the past couple years I have been splitting my time between Guiding in Alaska and Oregon for Salmon, Steelhead and Rainbow trout. In Alaska I have been at Wilderness Place Lodge on Lake Creek, guiding out of jet boats for all five species of Pacific Salmon. In Oregon I have mainly been running float trips down the famed Lower Deschutes for Redside Rainbows and Steelhead. These opportunities have taught me the ins and outs of what it takes to not only catch these fish but run a fun, safe and professional outfit on the river.

Guiding for Fly and Field Outfitters is a pleasure and I couldn’t ask for a better outfit to work with. The professionalism and positive demeanor that radiates from every staff member I have met is truly something that is unmatched. I also can’t ask for a better area to have the opportunity to guide. The waters of Central Oregon have always held a special place in my heart. Whether it’s fishing in a tangled mess of logs on the upper Deschutes or stripping streamers for Bull Trout surrounded by towering canyon walls on Lake Billy Chinook, I have always felt that Central Oregon is where I was meant to be. I am so excited to work with Fly and Field and with you the people that make my dream job a reality.
