The fishing at East Lake is getting even better. The carpenter ant hatch seems to come and go whenever it pleases. The hatch time seems to be different day to day. However, when it turns on, it is on! Make sure to bring size 18 black ants, black foam ants, or really any black thing that will float! We are still doing well fishing midges under a bobber or as a dropper on a dry dropper rig. Fishing a dry dropper can be incredibly effective when you see fish starting to come up.

Still early signs of callibeatis but nothing major yet. Fishing a callibeatis nymph or some of the classics like a pheasant tail or hares ear will likely get you into fish.

Access to the ramps is great! Camping access may still be a bit limited due to remaining snow. However that can change any day.
